WHAT IS COMMUNITY ACUPUNCTURE? Getting acupuncture in a group setting is not a new concept. It's how acupuncture has been practiced for years in hospitals throughout China. Here, we needed a model that could pay acupuncturists a living wage without relying on government grants and charity events.
With that goal in mind, the community acupuncture model was created. HOW? Each treatment is given in a treatment room where patients nap together in their separate treatment chairs while an acupuncturist cares for them. Patients are fully clothed as the acupuncture points used are usually on areas from the elbow to hand and knee to foot.
WHY? Because holistic healthcare should be available to everyone from all walks of life.
